Driving behaviour with ISA

Based on the questionnaires, these experiences were given by the test-drivers:

- The ISA-system assist them well in keeping the right speed. Certainly for keeping 30 km/h, which they noticed that it is not an easy speed to drive without assistance.

- They experienced driving whit ISA is more comfortable and relaxed.

- The drivers look less often at the speedometer and they let their foot 'rest' relatively often on the counterforce of the accelerator pedal, even as some of them try to drive in such way that the pedal would not be activated.

- The most drivers did not noticed any difference while driving with or without the active accelerator pedal in looking at speed signs, recognising and involving in certain traffic situations or holding distance with other cars. If they experience some changes it is more in favour for driving with ISA.

- 1 on 2 test-drivers declares that they less overtake while driving with ISA.

- The drivers think that the ISA-system is good, but certain technical issues could be better, like the position of the system in the car and the screen for reading the speed could be better. The most problems they noticed are regarding the speed map: sometimes this was not very accurate. Two main reasons could be given. First the positioning and accuracy of the GPS-signal. Another reason are small mistakes made while the map was arranged; Although we can say that the map consists an accuracy of 80% of the total test area.
